Kim Talks About Her Journey with Lyme Disease and How She Was Able to Put It into Remission Holistically
11/20/2011
Chris: Kim thanks a lot for giving up your time to answer a few questions!
Kim: It is my pleasure and honor that you asked me to do this Chris. I am always willing to do what I can to share my personal experience with the journey of lyme disease.

Chris: So the standard definition for "remission" is the state of absence of disease activity in those with chronic illness. Does this definition define you?
Kim: Yes Chris, I have obtained remission from my chronic state of this disease..I have had no relapse and don’t have the intention in my mind to allow it to happen.
Kim: Yes Chris, I have obtained remission from my chronic state of this disease..I have had no relapse and don’t have the intention in my mind to allow it to happen.
Chris: What was the indication or the proof that you were in remission?
Kim: I was able to remain symptom free while reaching the target dose of 20 drops in each of the Byron White Formulas, holding it there for four months consecutively after no symptoms being present. I was adamant in not stopping treatment until I was able to achieve that high of a dose continuously for four months. Some say two to three months is sufficient, but I wanted to be absolutely positive that they were indeed in remission.
I also go to the kinesiologist every two weeks to keep an eye on things..it's an added confirmation for me..one that I trust.

Chris: As many of us know in the Lyme community there is a huge debate between conventional and holistic (natural) means of treatment. Which route did you take?
Kim: I chose a holistic doctor for my treatment. In my case, I was dealing with a late stage chronic form of lyme disease with Candida as one of my infections. Antibiotics would have been detrimental to my immune system and caused more Candida to develop, so we both agreed to the natural route. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself.

Chris: Healing from Lyme Disease is no over night task and can take years for the worst cases. How long did it take you from the time you started treatment until the day you were declared in remission?
Kim: The day I walked into my doctor’s office , I asked him how long it would take for me to be well again. He looked me in the eyes and said nine to eleven months. I was diagnosed in June 2010, and reached remission by May 2011. Sometimes just having someone give you that affirmation is enough to produce the desired outcome.

Chris: The idea of symptoms going in reverse is an indication of the body healing. Did you experience this at all?
Kim: I have heard of the reversal of symptoms. It was different for me. When I started treatment with the Byron White Formulas, they brought me back to the origin of infection at one drop each. I wasn’t aware of my symptoms going backwards, they just started fading one by one after intensifying in the beginning. I was born with lyme and Babesiosis and was infected with Bartonella at the age of eight. It was really a way of life for me with no strong symptoms that presented over the years until three years prior to being diagnosed. After being diagnosed finally and educating myself on the diseases and symptoms, my sporadic health issues over the years began to make sense.

Chris: Have you continued taking anything since you've been in remission?
Kim: I continue to detox for heavy metals and Candida, that is something that I will continue with for life. I also use supplements and antioxidants to support my immune system to keep things in balance. I eat a restrictive diet for yeast, bacteria, parasites, and viruses that I will continue as well.

Chris: It's been said that you should continue treatment for at least 2 more months after your last symptom. Did this statement apply to you?
Kim: As I stated before, I treated for four months after my last symptom. I feel and felt it is safer that way. Two months to me personally, is not long enough.

Chris: Having support through out a battle with Lyme Disease is of the greatest of gratitudes. What type of support did you have or find throughout your treatment?
Kim: I had a wonderful support system in my family and friends. My parents were my biggest source of unconditional love and care, my husband takes second..lol.. My doctor was the most amazing doctor, I was very blessed to have his guidance and wisdom leading me on this journey. He taught me to believe in myself and my own intuition and encouraged me every step of the way. My friends that stuck by me are priceless, even the ones that don’t have lyme themselves. I was very fortunate having my support circle.

Chris: If there is one thing you could say those still battling Lyme Disease who have seem to given up hope, what would you say to them?
Kim: I would have to say, there is always an answer, there is always a way. Never lose your faith whether it be in God, Buddha, Mohammed, whoever and whatever you believe in. We need to keep our faith. Remain positive that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, that light is right inside of you. Also, to never lose faith in yourself. You have all of the answers inside of you. Be still and listen to your inner voice, it will guide you each and every step of the way . It can be the most difficult thing in your life to overcome, or it can be embraced as a life altering blessing . Once you see the blessing in it all, it makes the journey worth it. Find the blessing in it.

Chris: Kim, I can't stress enough how grateful I am that you shared your story with me. Thank you so much!
Kim: Chris, thank you for asking me to share it. The more people share of themselves , the more we can learn and grow together as a whole. Thank you for having me here..God bless.
