Pompano Beach, Florida, United States "Diagnosed with Lyme Disease in 2006. Took antibiotics for 30 days and was told I was cured. Went to another doctor who told me that there was no Lyme Disease in Florida and that I was misdiagnosed and that I was suffering from Migraine with Aura."

Connecticut, United States "First symptom was vaginal/vulvar burning. I went to six Ob/gyns and even the ER and nobody could figure out was was wrong. Was tested for every STD in the book and was negative. I was given creams for possible eczema or hormonal imbalance. Those didn't work. Finally, I was tested for ureaplasma/microplasma because I was having symtpoms of a bladder infection as well. That came up positive. It turns out microplasma is a common co-infection of lyme. Shortly after that diagnosis, my bloodwork came back and was positive for lyme as well. My gyno diagnosed me with vulvodynia (vulvar burning or pain without a known cause) Some studies I found said that a large portion of woman with vulvodynia have lyme disease. No doctors I spoke with seemed to be aware of this. " "Since my vulvar/vaginal symptoms were the most severe, I wasn't worrying about my other symptoms and didn't even make a connection until I tested positive for lyme. "
